Ancestor worship has been a vital practice in Chinese culture for centuries. During the Imperial eras, it was considered a sacred familial duty to honor the spirits of departed ancestors. Ancestor paintings, like these, were highly treasured objects in the home.
This pair of ancestor paintings showcases a nobleman and his wife from the Qing Dynasty. The nobleman's high rank is indicated by the white crane mandarin square on his purple and red robe, symbolizing longevity and wisdom. This emblem denoted him as the highest-ranking civil officer in the Qing court. The nobleman's wife is also portrayed wearing a matching red robe and mandarin badge, signifying her husband's rank.
In domestic settings, the left-hand seat was the seat of honor and reserved for the husband; in social settings, the wife was to flank her husband's right. Both portraits are elegantly framed in distressed black wooden frames, with front glass panels to protect them from dust and scratches. They come equipped with matching brass hanging hardware for easy display.
Care
For wooden frames, regular dusting may be done with a feather duster or slightly damp microfiber cloth. If using a damp cloth, be sure to remove any excess moisture left behind. For the glass, never use any type of abrasive cleaners or cloths for cleaning, as these can leave scratches. A slightly damp microfiber cloth is sufficient for removing dust and smearing.

This item is shipped via third party trucking carrier within 3-10 business days. We have 3 shipping options available for you to select:
Most economical and basic delivery method. Shipment will be delivered to the end of the driveway near the curb. If there is no driveway, it will be delivered to the closest sidewalk/passageway near the curb where the truck will be parked for delivery.
Shipment will be delivered into the garage or to the front door as long as there are no steps leading to the door, otherwise it can be left in front of the steps near the front door. Shipment will be delivered into the lobby for apartments that have a lobby.
Residential Home: Premium delivery to the ground floor with 2-man uncrating, unpacking, inside placement with room of choice and debris removal.
Commercial High-Rise Apartment/Condo Buildings: Premium delivery to your apartment/condo unit with 2-man uncrating, unpacking, inside placement with room of choice and debris removal. Delivery team must have access to an elevator to reach your unit. Any stairs involved may require an additional delivery fee.
Please inspect the package for visible damage before the carrier leaves. In the unlikely event you receive a damaged item due to shipping, please mark on the Proof of Delivery (delivery receipt) "damaged" before signing. We may not be able to process a damage claim without the Proof of Delivery marked "damaged".

Take an entire month to live with your purchase to decide if it's right for you. All ChinaFurnitureOnline.com orders may be returned for a 15% restocking fee up to 30 days after the order is delivered. To return an item, simply
